About The Position

About Muir Wood Muir Wood is a leading provider of residential mental health and substance use treatment for adolescents ages 12–17. With 17 Joint Commission-accredited programs across California, we deliver evidence-based, trauma-informed care in a safe, structured, and compassionate environment. Our programs integrate individual therapy, family systems work, and accredited education, all focused on long-term recovery for teens and their families. The Licensed Vocational Nurse is responsible for assessing client's medical needs, monitoring medications, administering and tracking TB skin tests, and assisting psychiatrists as needed. This is a full-time, onsite position scheduled Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, 7:30am-6pm

Requirements

  • Must possess a current, valid LVN license in the state of California
  • Health screening, TB clearance, and valid CPR/First Aid, and criminal record clearance are required prior to employment
  • Experience in residential nursing preferred

Responsibilities

  • Complete Nursing screening and/or assessment of new clients immediately upon admission according to level of care procedures.
  • Link clients with appropriate medical care as necessary and document all referrals.
  • Obtain, store and monitor medications according to policy and procedure.
  • Monitor medication process for clients living in residential facilities including supervision of medication distribution, supervising self-administration process.
  • Provide on-going client education (group and individual) regarding medications.
  • Perform responsibilities according to clinical and timeliness guidelines, and assimilates and applies performance feedback as directed by management personnel.
  • Work with Operations Manager to order required medical equipment.
  • Cross-train and support other divisions (ie care coordinators) as needed or requested by the supervisor.
  • Maintain medical records, medical charts, control log, etc.
  • Participate in weekly staff and clinical meetings.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
