What does the Licensed Nurse do? (including but not limited to) As a Licensed Vocational Nurse, you are responsible for providing basic patient care under the supervision of a registered nurse, including taking vital signs, administering medications, preparing patients for exams, collecting specimens, assisting with procedures, educating patients on self-care, and documenting patient information thoroughly; all while maintaining clear communication with the healthcare team and patients.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
- Must have active Licensed Vocational Nurse in the state of Texas.
- Minimum of 1 year experience as an LVN, experience in behavioral health care preferred
- Certification in Basic Life Support
- Certification in non-violent crisis intervention
Nice To Haves
- Minimum of 1 year experience as an LVN, experience in behavioral health care preferred
Responsibilities
- Participates in the planning, coordinating, and documenting of total patient care in conjunction with the multidisciplinary treatment team
- Accurately reports and records the client’s condition and care, including signs and symptoms which may be indicative of change
- Accurately monitor skin assessments with proper documentation and reporting of changes
- Completes, maintains, and documents accurate and relevant clinical notes
- Ensures timely and accurate clinical documentation for all nursing clinical services provided
- Participation in education, in-services, and other training and meetings as needed
- Facilitates appropriate nursing action(s) in response to administrative directives and a changing healthcare environment
- Ensures all MD orders are followed and documented accordingly during the assigned shift
- Manages medication administration, monitoring, and proper storage of medication and complies with all medication management policies and procedures
