About The Position

Totally Kids Rehabilitation Hospital is dedicated to enriching the health and quality of life of children with medical and developmental needs who benefit from habilitation and rehabilitation services and the supportive use of technology. The Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) utilizes knowledge of basic nursing principles, practices, and ethics to perform procedures and tasks within their scope of practice. The LVN is responsible for providing and documenting skilled nursing care, under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, in accordance with developed care plans and physicians' orders for each individual student. The role also involves coordinating care among all members of the interdisciplinary healthcare team. Employees are expected to demonstrate behavior consistent with the Core Values and support the organization's strategic plan, quality assurance performance improvement process, and activities.

Requirements

  • Current Licensed Vocational Nurse as issued in State of California
  • Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Minimum of two (2) years of pediatric nursing experience in a subacute or acute care hospital; or completion of the hospitals preceptor program within two months of hire
  • Ability to lift thirty (30) pounds without assistance
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing
  • Knowledge of basic nursing procedures and documentation as applicable to job
  • Must possess good work ethics and a professional image at all times
  • Knowledge of CMS conditions of participation, CDPH state regulations, CCS, and TJC (hospital, nursing care center, and laboratory) accreditation requirements as applicable to job
  • Working knowledge of computer and software applications as applicable to job
  • Possess strong communication, interpersonal and collaboration skills
  • Works responsibly in a team environment as well as independently
  • Manages confidential information effectively and appropriately

Nice To Haves

  • Pediatric Advance Life Support (PALS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification preferred
