About The Position

This position requires a full understanding and active participation in fulfilling the mission of the Todd Cancer Institute at Long Beach Medical Center. The employee shall support Long Beach Medical Center’s strategic plan and participate in and advocate performance improvement/patient safety activities. The Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) is responsible for caring for patients in the ambulatory setting by assisting in the collection of subjective and objective data, recognizing problems or abnormal conditions specific to the patient, and performing a psychosocial assessment using active listening, verbal communication, and non-verbal communication. The LVN will contribute to the development of the patient plan of care and will implement, under the direction of a physician, AHP, or RN, only those parts of the plan of care that are within the LVN's scope of practice. This position will cross train in multiple specialties and primarily be working in Breast Oncology/Breast Surgery. Placement in the pay range is based on multiple factors including, but not limited to, relevant years 20 experience and qualifications. In addition to base pay, there may be additional compensation available for this role, including but not limited to, shift differentials, extra shift incentives, and bonus opportunities. Requirements

  • One-year experience in an outpatient setting or physician’s office is desired.
  • Completion of an accredited LVN program required.
  • Active California Board of Vocation Nurse License, LVN License required.
  • American Heart Association BLS required.
  • Intravenous Therapy and Blood Withdrawal (IVBW) Certification on LVN license required.
