About The Position

The Licensed Vocational Nurse (TeleHealth) position at the VA Greer Los Angeles Healthcare is focused on providing high-quality telehealth services to veterans. The nurse will work primarily in Bakersfield, CA, and will be responsible for supporting clinical telehealth encounters and providing technical and administrative support for telehealth operations.

Requirements

• U.S. Citizenship.
• Active, full, current, and unrestricted licensure as a Graduate Licensed Practical or Vocational Nurse.
• Graduation from a school of practical or vocational nursing approved by the appropriate state agency.
• Proficiency in written and spoken English.
• Ability to meet physical demands including strenuous physical activity.

Nice To Haves

• 2-3 years of experience as an LPN/LVN.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Responsibilities

• Maintain certification as a telehealth preceptor to deliver advanced telehealth training and evaluate competencies of clinical staff.
• Support clinical telehealth encounters by serving as the tele-presenter within the scope of practice.
• Manage real-time clinical telehealth events and provide established patient education.
• Utilize complex digital medical image/data capture peripherals for telehealth services.
• Arrange and complete test video calls with veterans to prepare them for clinical encounters using telehealth technologies.
• Troubleshoot audio and video connections for various devices used by patients.
