The LVN performs under the direction of a Registered Nurse in providing nursing care to assigned patients, utilizing basic understanding of psychiatric and personality disorders. Requirements
- Graduate from a Vocational School of Nursing Accredited by the State Board of Nursing
- Licensed to practice Vocational nursing from the State Board of Nursing or Psychiatric Technicians
- Must pass a medication administration exam before administering medications
- CPR certification and successful completion of Handle with Care (HWC) including restraint and seclusion policies and Verbal De-escalation before on the unit orientation and prior to assisting in restraining procedures
Nice To Haves
- Minimum one (1) year as a LVN in psychiatric nursing
