About The Position

The Wound/Ostomy Care LVN works collaboratively under the direction of an RN or physician to provide clinical care to patients with wounds, ostomies, and other unique healthcare needs. This role involves conducting assessments, participating in developing plans of care, and executing skilled interventions. The LVN will also provide education to patients and their families, and contribute to evaluating treatment interventions as defined by the care/treatment plan. Direct patient care, administrative duties, and other assigned tasks are part of the role, requiring flexibility to support the department and organization. Requirements

  • Current California Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) License
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Minimum of 2 years recent acute care LVN or related/equivalent experience
  • Excellent communication, organization and prioritization skills
  • Strong computer skills and the ability to learn the internal computer systems to ensure proficiency in Microsoft, Google, EPIC, etc.
  • The physical and mental health sufficient to accomplish duties of an LVN in the wound and ostomy care field
  • Must meet Marshall Medical Center’s pharmacology requirements
  • Must be flexible for variable start times to support patient care and organizational needs

Nice To Haves

  • Current national certification in wound and ostomy care management
  • Prior experience in wound and ostomy care
