About The Position

The Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) position at Heart & Vascular Specialists is a full-time role in a fast-paced, high-volume clinic located at 8230 Walnut Hill Lane, Suite 410, Dallas, TX 75231. The work hours are Monday through Friday, from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, totaling 40 hours weekly. The role requires 25% travel to surrounding clinics 1-2 times a week as needed, with mileage reimbursement provided. The clinic emphasizes a rewarding and educational environment, encouraging collaboration among team members who possess a strong work ethic and positive attitudes. The LVN will be responsible for delivering patient care, triaging calls, and performing specific nursing duties related to cardiology.

Requirements

  • LVN - Licensed Vocational Nurse Upon Hire (required)
  • Accredited School of Practical Nursing Program (required)
  • BCLS (required upon hire)
  • Knowledge of basic nursing processes and understanding of healthcare technology, equipment, and supplies.
  • Knowledge of state law on nursing care, nurse practice guidelines, and clinic policies and procedures.
  • Ability to effectively communicate to staff and patients.
  • Demonstrate sound judgment and composure.
  • Ability to take appropriate action in questionable or emergency situations.
  • Maintain a positive, caring attitude towards staff and patients.
  • Possess a strong work ethic and a high level of professionalism.
  • Efficient time management skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Cardiology or EKG experience (preferred)
  • 1 year LVN experience (preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Delivers care to patients utilizing the LVN Process.
  • Triage patient calls and communicates with the provider.
  • Utilizes the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate comprehensive care provided to selected patient populations and their families.
  • Performs specific nursing care as it relates to specialty of cardiology.
  • Collects patient data such as vital signs, notes how the patient looks and acts or responds to stimuli and reports this information accordingly.
  • Prepares patient records and files using established medical record forms/automated systems and documentation practices.
  • Administers certain prescribed medications and monitors and documents treatment progress and patient response.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
