About The Position

The Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) in the Emergency Room at West Anaheim Medical Center is responsible for providing direct and indirect patient care services that require technical and manual skills. This role operates under the supervision of a Registered Nurse and is essential in meeting the psychosocial, physical, and communication needs of patients and their families. The position emphasizes adherence to EMTALA regulations and the triage process in an emergency setting.

Requirements

• Current and valid state license as a Licensed Vocational Nurse.
• Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintain current.
• Current ACLS certificate within 30 days upon hire and maintain current.
• Current PALS certificate within 30 days upon hire and maintain current.
• Current NRP certificate preferred or within 30 days upon hire and maintain current.
• IV certification upon hire; Blood Withdrawal (BW) certification preferred.
• Basic Arrhythmia Interpretation within 30 days of hire.

Nice To Haves

• Blood Withdrawal (BW) certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct and indirect patient care services within the scope of practice.
• Meet the psychosocial, physical, and general aspects of care for patients.
• Communicate effectively with patients and their families regarding care needs.
• Perform duties under the direction and supervision of a Registered Nurse.
• Demonstrate knowledge of EMTALA Regulations and triage process in the ER setting.
