Sierra Vista Hospital is seeking Per Diem Licensed Vocational Nurses for the Nursing Department. The Sierra Vista Hospital location, a 171-bed psychiatric care facility located in south Sacramento, is a full-service mental health facility and a center of support for patients and their families. Since 1986, we have offered our clinical expertise to those suffering from emotional, behavioral and addiction problems. POSITION SUMMARY The LVN performs under the direction of a Registered Nurse in providing nursing care to assigned patients, utilizing basic understanding of psychiatric and personality disorders. Shift Availabilities: AM shift - 07:00am - 3:30pm PM shift - 3:00pm - 11:30pm NOC shift - 11:00pm- 7:30am Per Diem Requirements 6 shifts per month 4 Weekend days per month 2 hospital-defined holiday’s must be worked each year

Requirements

  • Graduate from an accredited professional vocational school of nursing as a Licensed Vocational Nurse.
  • Minimum six (6) months as a LVN in psychiatric nursing preferred. Willing to train New Grad.
  • Licensed to practice vocational nursing from the State Board of Nursing.
  • Valid driver’s license preferred.
  • Must pass a medication administration exam before administering medications.
  • CPR certification, and successful completion of the hospital’s designated behavioral and physical management training program, including de-escalation and appropriate use of seclusion and restraint required prior to assisting in the procedures.
  • May be required to work overtime and flexible hours.
  • 6 shifts per month
  • 4 Weekend days per month
  • 2 hospital-defined holiday’s must be worked each year
