About The Position

Animal Care Clinic is a well-established, progressive, fast-paced 1-doctor small animal general practice located in Lincoln, NE. We offer a wide range of services to provide the best comprehensive care to our patients, including preventive care, surgery, urgent care, dentistry, in-house diagnostics, digital full body and dental radiology, ultrasonography, and grooming. Our hours of operation are Monday - Friday: 7:30am- 6:00pm and we are closed on weekends.

Requirements

  • A Licensed Veterinary Technician
  • 1+ year experience preferred but not required
  • Recent graduates from an AVMA accredited veterinary technology program are welcome
  • High work ethic and positive attitude
  • Ability to arrive on-time and ready to work
  • Exceptional customer service skills
  • Ability to communicate precisely
  • Ability to interpret medical records and record client history accurately
  • Knowledge in preventative care, surgical procedures, and hospital flow
  • Ability to restrain pets in a low-stress and safe manner
  • Proficient in sample collection including blood, urine, fecal, and skin
  • Ability to properly set-up and process laboratory samples and tests
  • Proficient in positioning and capturing radiographs
  • Proficient in anesthesia and surgical monitoring
  • Self-starter with a desire to advance knowledge and skillset
  • Ability to receive constructive feedback professionally

Responsibilities

  • Animal restraint
  • Triage of incoming patients
  • Collection and analysis of lab samples
  • Diagnostic imaging
  • Management and nursing care of medical and hospitalized cases with varying degrees of stability
  • Administration of medications
  • Effective communication of treatment plans with clients
  • Surgical preparation and assistance
  • Anesthetic management
