About The Position

Elko Veterinary Clinic is looking for Licensed Veterinary Technicians to join our team. Our busy, full-service mixed animal practice is seeking dedicated team members who are looking to utilize their skills and knowledge. Full-time or Part-time shifts available. New LVT Graduates Encouraged to Apply! Salary: $27.00 - $35.00 per hour, depending on experience, education, certifications, licensure, and location. Schedule: Full-time, Four 10-hour shifts per week. Primarily weekdays with rotating weekend support. Part-time, flexible scheduling, including weekend coverage. On-Call: After hours, rotating, on-call scheduling required. Requirements

Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) in Nevada, or eligible to transfer/acquire state license within 3 months of hire
2+ years of veterinary clinical experience, as a veterinary technician or assistant preferred
Knowledge of industry tools and equipment
Passion for working with large and small animals, birds, exotics, and their owners
Experience with proper animal handling and restraint for a variety of species
Ability to perform nursing care in a hospital or ranch setting
Solid understanding of animal behavior and healthcare
Understands the importance of excellent communication and organizational skills

Nice To Haves

Degree from an AVMA-accredited Veterinary Technology program preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

Dental procedure experience, scaling, polishing, extractions, suturing
Skilled in IV Catheter placement, urinary catheter placement, applying casts, bandages and splints
Anesthesia monitoring and surgical experience including intubation, monitoring, pre-operative and post-operative care
Laboratory skills including cytology set-up and interpretation
Diagnostic experience including digital radiology, dental radiology, and ultrasound-guided cystocentesis
And all other duties of a Licensed Veterinary Technician as allowable by law
