About The Position

Animal Care Center of Pahrump is growing and looking for experienced Licensed Veterinary Technicians to join their team. The center is adding additional doctor days and needs LVTs ready to work at the highest level of their training and license. Full-time or Part-time shifts are available. Animal Care Center of Pahrump is a long-standing general practice hospital with deep ties to the community, located in Pahrump, Nevada. It is the only local veterinary practice open 7 days a week to support all the preventative and urgent care needs of the region. Dr. Netta Ohayon joined in 2024 as Medical Director and has established a culture of friendly, supportive, high-quality medical care. Requirements

  • Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) in Nevada, or eligible to transfer/acquire state license within 3 months of hire
  • 2+ years of veterinary clinical experience, as a veterinary technician or assistant
  • Knowledge of industry tools and equipment
  • Passion for working with animals and their owners
  • Experience with proper animal handling and restraint
  • Solid understanding of animal behavior and healthcare
  • Understand the importance of excellent communication and organizational skills

Nice To Haves

  • Degree from an AVMA-accredited Veterinary Technology program

Responsibilities

  • Obtain accurate histories, vitals, and brief exams in exam rooms
  • Provide client education and financial conversations
  • Perform dental charting, scaling, polishing, and dental radiology
  • Perform IV Catheter placement, venipuncture, and urinary catheter placement
  • Apply casts, bandages, and splints
  • Conduct anesthesia monitoring and surgical assistance including intubation, monitoring, aseptic technique, pre-operative and post-operative care
  • Perform laboratory skills including in-house lab equipment operation, ear and skin cytology set-up and interpretation
  • Execute diagnostic procedures including digital radiology, dental radiology, and ultrasound-guided cystocentesis
  • Perform all other duties of a Licensed Veterinary Technician as allowable by law
