Gasow Veterinary Hospital is searching for a full-time Surgical Licensed Veterinary Technician to join our TEAM! We are an AAHA-accredited, 7-doctor practice, proud to offer routine veterinary care and Urgent Care available seven days a week, including evenings and weekends. We are looking for a dedicated LVT who is excited about spending 50-75% of their time in surgery.   • Administer medications, assist or perform treatments, diagnostics & monitoring, place IV catheters, draw blood, run lab tests, administer IV fluids, cleaning, feeding, and walking patients as needed.
  • Prep, induction, maintenance, monitoring, recovery of patients, cleans/maintains/sterilize anesthesia equipment and surgical instruments.
  • Provide patient dental care, ultrasonic cleaning and polishing, assist doctor with dental surgery.
  • Position patients and assist with radiographs, sending radiographs via email.
  • Collect, prepare, & run or submit samples for requested tests; reading and recording results when indicated.
  • Prepare invoices, discharge instructions, and client informational tools.
  • Give patient updates, discharge instructions, and provide follow up for certain hospital patients.
  • Teach/educate clients on at home care procedures.
  • Blood draws for therapeutic monitoring / screening tests, bandage changes, post-op checks, suture removals.
  • Assist doctor with outpatient appointments, preparing, restocking, cleaning exam room, check patients in and out, take history and vitals.
  • Assist with reception/front desk duties as needed.
  • Assist in training and mentoring new team members.
  • Inform inventory manager when products are getting low/out, unpacking, restocking drug & medical supplies.
  • Prepare prescriptions - dispensed medications & medication refills.
  • Licensed veterinary technician with 2-3 years of experience.
  • Experience in administering and calculating CRIs.
  • Anesthesia monitoring and adjusting.
  • Reading ECGs and EKGs.
  • Dental procedures.
  • Experience with endoscopy/laparoscopy equipment (a big plus!).
  • Orthopedic surgical assistance (coverage as needed).
  • PTO - 80 hours, with additional PTO based on years of service.
  • Holiday Pay - 48 hours for 6 recognized holidays.
