About The Position

BluePearl Pet Hospital in Reno is hiring a Licensed Veterinary Technician to join our Surgery Department! As a Surgery Veterinary Technician, you will be responsible for following detailed orders and building trust with the clinician quickly. You will be skilled in intubation, extubating, and monitoring anesthetic procedures, and understand the importance of sterility in all procedures performed. You will provide nursing care to stable patients according to hospital standards of care and core values, and utilize your ability to place peripheral intravenous catheters in the cephalic vein. You will perform physical exams, accurately count heart and pulse rates, and monitor vital parameters, alerting the doctor when abnormalities are detected. You will also set up and administer intravenous and subcutaneous fluids, and monitor patient responses to fluid therapy.

Requirements

• Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) certification.
• Experience in veterinary surgery and anesthesia monitoring.
• Ability to follow detailed medical orders and protocols.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work in a team.

• Experience with advanced veterinary medical procedures.
