About The Position

Sanctuary Recovery Centers is seeking a caring, enthusiastic therapist for their facility. The Therapist will be responsible for scheduling intake assessments, gauging clients' treatment needs, and devising contextually sensitive treatment options. They will review the suggested length and type of interventions to optimize client recovery. A successful therapist should be able to handle projection while maintaining honest dialogues with clients and be cognizant of societal factors influencing clients' experiences. The position involves directing routine activities to provide psychological care for clients with various behavioral problems, including substance abuse, post-traumatic stress disorder, post incarceration syndrome, and co-occurring behavioral health needs. The Therapist will meet with clients, analyze their mental health status, and develop a course of therapy. They may work with clients experiencing substance abuse, depression, anxiety, or eating disorders. This role requires collaboration with the entire treatment team, including the client, family, case manager, and other behavioral specialists. Under the supervision of the Medical Director, the Therapist will also address patients' social needs and utilize area referral sources.

Requirements

  • Computer skills - KIPU and MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) to write / update notes and generate reports.
  • Current Certification CPR/BLS.
  • Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
  • Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm.
  • Must be punctual.
  • Master's degree in Behavioral Health.
  • 2 years' experience in Behavioral Health.
  • Licensed Professional: LAC, LMSW, LASAC.
  • Computer skills - KIPU, MS Office (Word, Excel and Outlook).
  • Experience - Social Service environment.
  • Proven experience as a professional counselor.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills.
  • Committed to delivering culturally congruent treatment.
  • Strong, demonstrable community orientation.
  • Empathic, sensitive, and driven to foster healing.
  • Successful completion of a background check.
  • Pass a drug screening test.
  • Pass an APS (Adult Protective Services) registry check.

Responsibilities

  • Informing prospective clients about pertinent financial and emotional commitments.
  • Consulting with new clients to gauge their difficulties and resources.
  • Devising tailor-made treatment regimens and adapting these, as needed.
  • Addressing concerns through talk therapy and by modeling adaptive, sustainable behaviors.
  • Promoting constructive self-reflection, helpful coping techniques, and nurturing relationships.
  • Monitoring perceptions about and adherence to suggested treatment.
  • Recording symptomology over time to ascertain the utility of interventions.
  • Writing medical and suitable referral notes, as required.
  • Staying warm, engaged, and receptive as you work to facilitate healing.
  • Observe clients, listen to their concerns, records their observations and reports to mental health professionals about any unusual behavior(s).
  • Develop and implement service plans.
  • Provide quality care for clients on an outpatient basis.
  • Assess a client's changes in mood, and determine whether it is positive, negative, or potentially dangerous and take steps to modify the client's actions or alert the supervisory team.
  • Assist clients in articulating personal goals for recovery using one-to-one and group sessions.
  • Support clients in identifying and creating goals and developing recovery plans with the skills, strengths, supports and resources to aid them in achieving those goals.
  • Assist clients in working with their Case Manager or Treatment Team in determining the steps he/she needs to take to achieve these goals and self-directed recovery.
  • Assist clients in setting up and sustaining self-help (mutual support) groups, as well as means of locating and joining existing groups.
  • Use ongoing individual and group sessions using appropriate clinical modalities like motivational interviewing, cognitive behavioral therapy, rational emotive behavioral therapy, etc.
  • Maintain safety for themselves and their clients, including securing documents and files.
  • Work with other Treatment Team members to plan, market and implement new programs.
  • Facilitate groups with pre-determined curriculum
  • Complete monthly individual counseling sessions with clients on caseload
  • Complete staffing meetings with Treatment Team.
  • Complete all necessary and required documentation within 24 hours of service provided.
  • Client engagement expectation: The clinical supervisor is expected to encounter clients for a minimum of 1500 minutes per week of their scheduled workdays.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by administration.
