About The Position

CHA Consulting, Inc. is currently seeking a Licensed Survey Manager to join our Infrastructure – Survey Geospatial Team at our Duluth, GA or Columbia, SC office. What You'll Do: CHA's comprehensive approach to survey and Subsurface Utility Engineering (SUE) is the hallmark of a successful project. Our approach includes a variety of tools and skillsets from boots on the ground to advanced measurement technology including the use of drones. The Licensed Survey Manager, an important technical leadership role at CHA, leads an effective and productive team of technical professionals. This individual’s success is measured by their team's technical quality, achieving team utilization targets, engaging, and motivating their team to go above and beyond, and effective management of project budgets. The Licensed Survey Manager organizes, directs, and coordinates activities associated with the project scope of work either individually or collectively with their team. Requirements

  • High School Diploma required; A.A.S. degree or B.S. degree preferred (required if not professionally licensed)
  • Minimum of 10 years of geospatial related consulting experience is required; previous project or team management experience preferred
  • Valid US Driver’s license required
  • PLS required (unless B.S. from an accredited survey program has been achieved)
  • Thorough knowledge of federal, state and other regulations regarding land surveying
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office is required
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD and Civil 3D is required; knowledge of MicroStation software is a plus
  • Ability to demonstrate technical proficiency in respective discipline
  • Technically astute and strategic in thinking to manage the activity within the team
  • An articulate and persuasive communicator, both one-on-one and in front of large groups, with the ability to represent themselves and the company in a professional manner to the general public
  • A high energy, results-oriented, resourceful leader with a strong ability to lead/grow a team of field crew and office staff
  • Ability to resolve matters timely and lead projects to completion with a sense of urgency
  • Ability to inspire, motivate, build and manage relationships across the company
  • Demonstrates a basic understanding of accounting processes
  • Demonstrates knowledge of the discipline’s technical processes

Nice To Haves

  • Ability to travel short-term is preferred
  • Experience with project budgeting preferred
