About The Position

As a member of the Child & Adolescent Services (also known as Mobile Response and Stabilization Services - MRSS), the Licensed Social Worker provides mobile crisis and mental health services to children, adults, and families. Services are delivered in clients’ homes, in the office, and via telehealth. Qualified applicants must hold an active LMSW or LCSW-C license and demonstrate a strong commitment to improving the well-being of the community.

Requirements

  • Master’s Degree with a valid clinical license in the state of Maryland in good standing.
  • Minimum of two years of direct mobile crisis response experience, preferably in an outpatient crisis setting providing service to adults and youth in Prince George’s County.
  • Ability to make independent decisions when needed
  • Proficient in the use of personal computers
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Successful completion of State required background check and required training.

Responsibilities

  • Respond to crisis calls involving children, adolescents, and families by providing immediate on-site assessment and intervention.
  • Work as part of a two-person mobile team addressing Mental Health, Behavioral Health, and Substance Use–related crisis situations.
  • Maintain a caseload of approximately 25–30 clients, meeting with clients on a weekly or bi-weekly basis.
  • Complete a comprehensive biopsychosocial assessment for each client within 72 hours of referral for ongoing services.
  • Meet productivity expectations of a minimum of 25 billable sessions per week.
  • Develop a temporary treatment plan collaboratively with the client during the biopsychosocial assessment.
  • Assess all clients for referrals to Psychiatric Rehabilitation Program (PRP) or Mobile Treatment Services (MTS) during the biopsychosocial process.
  • Conduct thorough mental health assessments and make appropriate referrals to internal and external support services.
  • Connect clients and families to community resources, including employment, educational supports, and economic benefit programs.
  • Utilize harm-reduction strategies and promote engagement in treatment, including education and access to naloxone.
  • Collaborate closely with team members to deliver coordinated and effective crisis responses.
  • Communicate client needs to multidisciplinary teams and provide de-escalation strategies and clinical interventions as appropriate.
  • Lead and work alongside peer support staff, ensuring services align with and uphold the mission of the MRSS program.
