As a Licensed Social Worker with Optum Serve, you will support the Case Management department by identifying and utilizing resources to optimize member quality of life; assist with department needs and daily social service requests; provide opportunities and tools for department staff to support members; build and develop relationships with professionals working with members in the national program as well as the New York program; possess the ability to shift focus rapidly and multitask while maintaining a professional demeanor to meet member and staff needs; work with individuals from various backgrounds including educational, socio-economical, and cultural; assess World Trade Center Members’ responses on surveys and interviews telephonically to determine their current state of mental health; and educate on behavioral health treatment options and resources available within their World Trade Center benefits. This position requires an active Social Work license and the ability to obtain New York licensure if not already licensed in the state. Application fees and filing costs will be paid for by UHG. The schedule is Monday - Friday, 8am to 5pm CST. You’ll enjoy the flexibility to work remotely from anywhere within the U.S. as you take on some tough challenges. Requirements

  • Active, unrestricted Licensed Social Worker in state of residence
  • Ability to obtain Social Work license in New York if not currently licensed
  • 2+ years of experience working with individuals in crisis
  • Experience with Microsoft Office programs
  • Ability to work Monday - Friday, 8am - 5pm CST
  • Dedicated, distraction-free workspace / home office and reliable high speed internet at home

  • Experience with identification, diagnosis, or treatment of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)
  • URAC/ISO experience/knowledge

  • Demonstrated familiarity with general government forms and programs (particularly Worker’s Compensation)
  • Willingness to take on new projects
  • Ability to identify department needs related to training and efficiency
  • Ability to recognize individual strengths and weaknesses while adapting training needs to fit individual requirements

  • Proven effective interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to maintain a calm, supportive attitude during crisis or potential crisis situations

Responsibilities

  • Remain up to date with the contract requirements
  • Familiar with locating resources in communities across the country and territories
  • Maintain resources information for department staff
  • Provide information on and refer World Trade Center Members to their local agencies to assist with social benefits
  • Assist World Trade Center members in completion of forms (workers compensation, disability, etc.)
  • Prepare and assist with written case summaries
  • Develop and maintain relationships with the Social Workers and New York Program key personnel
  • Assist, as needed, with department tasks generally assigned to other department team members
  • Assess World Trade Center Members’ behavioral health status
  • Educate World Trade Center Members on behavioral health treatment options and resources as appropriate
  • Handle Behavioral Health emergency situations that arise
  • Document telephonic interaction assessment in internal database (MedNet) as needed
