The Department of Psychiatry & Behavioral Sciences is seeking a candidate to fill their Licensed Social Worker (LISW) or Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) position within their Sleep, Mood, and Anxiety and Research and Treatment (SMART) Division. This individual will provide mental health treatment services, participate as a member of a multidisciplinary team of providers, provide research assistance in the development and conduct of clinical research. The person will work closely with physicians, psychologists and other mental health providers, and registered sleep technologists as part of a clinical care team A major focus of the patient population will be individuals with sleep (insomnia, sleep panic, sleep paralysis, narcolepsy, idiopathic hypersomnia), mood (depression), anxiety (panic disorder, generalized anxiety disorder, somatic symptoms, OCD), and trauma and stressor-related and mood disorders. The client population often suffers from co-morbid medical, neuropsychiatric disorders or sensory processing disturbances (e.g. tinnitus, smell or taste disturbances, dizziness, vertigo, headaches, chemical-environmental or drug sensitivity). The position includes both assessments and counseling via office based and remote work providing telehealth therapy. Experience with implementing cognitive behavioral therapy and treating sleep, mood, and anxiety disorders is recommended but not required as the successful candidate will likely require education and training in many of the areas involved in this position.
