About The Position

Effective School Solutions is currently seeking a Licensed School-Based Mental Health Screener to join our team. We are looking for an experienced, mission-aligned clinician to provide mental health screenings to students in need of evaluation. The Screener will provide services to specific or all schools in assigned district. Selected candidates will collaborate with a seasoned and professional management team dedicated to delivering top-tier clinical services.

Requirements

• Master's degree in social work, counseling, psychology, or a related field.
• Current full clinical license in social work (LCSW), counseling (LPC), or marriage and family therapy (LMFT) in the state where this position is offered.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience working with children and/or adolescents with significant behavioral and emotional challenges, elementary age preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience administering crisis screening assessments to children.
• Strong knowledge of early childhood and elementary developmental milestones, as well as common emotional and behavioral concerns.
• Experience with crisis intervention, risk assessment, and care coordination for students in need of mental health services.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with students, families, school personnel, and multidisciplinary teams.
• Highly organized with the ability to manage a flexible, multi-site caseload and maintain timely documentation.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and comfort with using electronic medical record systems.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
• Ability to complete thorough clinical documentation.

Responsibilities

• Conduct mental health screenings across all school buildings in district after the district has identified students requiring additional support or evaluation.
• Utilize evidence-based screening tools to assess students' mental health status.
• Analyze screening data to determine the need for further evaluation or intervention.
• Collaborate with school staff, parents, and mental health professionals to develop appropriate support plans for identified students.
• Provide brief, targeted interventions or referrals to appropriate services as needed.
• Coordinate and actively participate in re-entry meetings for students returning after screenings.
• Maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards in all interactions.
• Document screening results and follow-up actions in the electronic medical record system promptly and accurately.
• Participate in team meetings, including Administrative School Meetings, ESS Town Hall meetings, ESS Supervision Meetings, and Treatment Team meetings.
• Maintain current professional licensure and adhere to ethical standards as mandated by the governing board.
• Consistently attend work on scheduled days and times, presenting a professional demeanor.
• Engage in ongoing professional development opportunities provided by ESS to enhance clinical skills and knowledge.
• Collect and analyze relevant data, such as grades, discipline records, and attendance, to ensure all metric goals are met.
• Prepare and present data in preparation for administrative meetings.
• Adhere to district policies and ESS protocols regarding consent, confidentiality, and communication with families and staff.
• Monitor and follow up on screening referrals to ensure all students are treated appropriately.
• Support the continuous improvement of screening protocols by sharing insights and feedback with ESS clinical leadership.
