About The Position

About the role: Effective School Solutions (ESS) is currently seeking a Float Clinician to join our team. ESS is one of the country’s leading providers of school-based mental health services for K-12 students. Serving over 2,000 students across the Northeast, Mid-Atlantic, and the West Coast regions, our company was founded based on the concept of offering the types of higher acuity clinical care that students would normally receive in a private practice or private school setting within the public-school building. This full-time role is ideal for clinicians who value variety, flexibility, and hands-on learning. Float Clinicians step in to support programs when a primary clinician is absent—whether that means covering multiple schools in a single week or providing longer-term support at one school—ensuring continuity of care where it matters most. This role offers the opportunity to work across elementary, middle, and high school settings , delivering individual, group, and family therapy while gaining broad clinical experience. Float Clinicians are assigned a home school near their home address on days they are not needed for coverage and travel to surrounding districts within approximately one hour of their home , providing support where needed while maintaining a reasonable and predictable geographic range. Mileage reimbursement is provided for round trips over 40 miles . Float Clinicians receive the same full-time benefits as all ESS clinical staff , including supervision toward clinical licensure hours, extensive training, and ongoing support from a highly seasoned and professional management team.
