About The Position

The Licensed School-Based Clinician (LCSW, LPC, or LMFT) provides comprehensive mental health services and activities that support and enhance the mental and emotional health of clients who are predominantly survivors of domestic violence, sexual violence, and other complex trauma primarily in a school setting. This role blends clinical expertise with educational collaboration, supporting students’ social, emotional, and behavioral needs within K–12 school settings while also maintaining a small outpatient caseload in a licensed Wisconsin DHS 35 clinic.

Requirements

Master’s degree in Social Work, Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, or related field
Active Wisconsin licensure (LCSW, LPC, or LMFT) in good standing
Minimum of 3 years of clinical experience
Demonstrated training and experience in trauma-informed care
Experience working with children and adolescents
Knowledge of school systems and educational environments
Understanding of family systems, including issues related to separation and divorce
Ability to work independently across multiple settings, including off-site school locations
Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and current automobile insurance
Ability to pass required background checks, including DOJ, caregiver, and sex offender registry screenings

Nice To Haves

Experience with RTI/MTSS frameworks
Training or experience in Social Emotional Learning (SEL) implementation
Experience providing classroom-based and small group interventions
Knowledge of child-centered and family therapy approaches
Experience in child and family outpatient psychotherapy
Experience with Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems
Current credentialing with insurance panels
Bilingual (Spanish)
Availability for occasional evening hours

Responsibilities

Provide individual and group psychotherapy to students within the school setting
Deliver social-emotional learning (SEL) support through classroom-based interventions (as needed) and small group counseling
Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and school staff to support student success
Offer consultation to school personnel regarding behavioral and mental health concerns
Participate in and support Response to Intervention (RTI) / Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) frameworks
Conduct assessments, develop treatment plans, and monitor student progress
Provide limited outpatient psychotherapy to children and families
Utilize developmentally appropriate, evidence-based and trauma-informed therapeutic approaches
Engage caregivers in treatment planning and ongoing care
Coordinate care with schools, medical providers, and other stakeholders
Complete intake assessments and diagnostic evaluations using DSM-5 and ICD-10 criteria
Maintain accurate, timely clinical documentation in compliance with DHS 35, agency, and state regulations
Assist clients with referrals, care coordination, and resource navigation
Collaborate with agency personnel and external professionals to support client care
Participate in 1:1 supervision for a minimum of 1 hour per week, as well as peer consultation, and ongoing professional development
Maintain client confidentiality in all settings
Manage an independent caseload across school and clinic settings while meeting productivity expectations
Represent the agency in the community and support outreach efforts as appropriate
Maintain active licensure in good standing in accordance with Wisconsin Administrative Code and DHS 35 requirements
