About The Position

Regions Hospital Respiratory Therapists are group of collaborative professionals that work in partnership with the patient care team in the development, modification, and implementation of the respiratory care plan. This position is responsible for the clinical case management and care coordination of the trauma patient. Including: Under the direction of the Respiratory Care Manager, our LRT/Cardiopulmonary Specialist will perform all requirements of an LRT in addition to: Required advanced training, experience and certifications as described above. Collaborates with the patient care team in the development, modification, and implementation of the respiratory care plan for neonates, pediatrics, adolescence, adults, and geriatric patients. Administers routine and specialized respiratory and critical care interventions to inpatients and outpatient patients of Regions Hospital. Performs specific diagnostic procedures as requested by the patient care team. Maintains, operates, and troubleshoots respiratory and critical care equipment.

Requirements

  • Associate Degree or higher in Respiratory Therapy and/or graduation from a two-year American Medical Association approved training program in Respiratory Care OR coursework and credentials (i.e., graduate of two-year respiratory therapist program plus CRT credential) which meet the qualifications for the registry exam of the National Board for Respiratory Care may substitute for the associate degree.
  • Minimum four years’ experience with at least two years’ experience at Regions Hospital with documented competency in performing respiratory critical care duties, plus the additional requirements listed below:
  • Minimum of two years performing respiratory critical duties in an acute care setting providing Hemodynamic services
  • Other as approved by Manager
  • Must work a minimum of 48 hours per pay period
  • Must be RRT and Licensed as a Respiratory Therapist (LRT) with the State of Minnesota Board of Medical Practice.
  • BLS Certified
  • ACLS Certified

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Respiratory Therapy preferred
  • Fundamentals of Critical Care Specialty (FCCS)
  • Adult Critical Care Specialty (ACCS)
  • Certified Pulmonary Function Technologist (CPFT)/ Registered Pulmonary Function Technologist (RPFT) for clinic/PFT based staff
  • NRP certified (hospital-based CPS)
  • PALS (PFT CPS)
