About the position

Licensed Psychologists provide psychological testing, evaluation, psychotherapy, counseling, and consultation to clients or inmates in residential, inpatient and outpatient settings, at a mental health, intellectual disabilities, or correctional facility, or in other settings where psychological services are provided. Incumbents possess a degree of knowledge and proficiency sufficient to perform advanced-level work and may provide work direction and training to others. The Division of Public and Behavioral Health, Southern Nevada Adult Mental Health Services (SNAMHS) is recruiting for Licensed Psychologist 1 positions at Stein Forensic Facility in Las Vegas. Duties may include formulating behavior plans and token economy programs; conducting competency evaluations, psychological assessments, risk assessments; & assisting in crisis intervention. Psychologists serve on interdisciplinary treatment teams, are consultants to other departments, develop programming, and may provide group and individual therapy. Psychologists may provide clinical supervision for trainees, including doctoral psychology interns for our APA-accredited internship. Incumbents will demonstrate interest in working with a marginalized, underserved, and diverse client population. Licensed Psychologists report to a Licensed Psychologist 2. Incumbents work an innovative variable schedule, are exempt from overtime, and must complete all required trainings & certifications.
