Our dedicated team provides personalized care to ensure an environment that allows healing for anyone who walks through our doors. We are currently searching for a dynamic individual to become the LICENSED PSYCHIATRIC TECHNICIAN for our unit. This position coordinates care for the program's patients. Please note that all applicants must undergo a pre-employment drug screening, which includes testing for marijuana, as well as a comprehensive background check and a TB Test. This position is for Thursday to Saturday from 8:00 pm to 8:00 am.

Requirements

  • A HS diploma or GED is required, and a bachelor's degree is preferred.
  • A certification as a Psychiatric Technician is required.
  • Experience (personal or familial) with substance use disorders (SUD) and/or mental health issues.
  • Experience working in the field of alcohol, tobacco, and drug education/recovery, as well as with other high-risk populations.
  • Must be organized and able to meet deadlines.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively.
  • Excellent computer skills are required.
  • Valid driver's license and insurability.
  • Strong organizational, communication & time management skills.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills with the ability to relate well with the populations to be served and the public.
  • Must be able to handle multiple tasks in a professional and timely manner.

Nice To Haves

  • Bilingual (English and Spanish) is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Measures and records patients’ vital signs using thermometers or blood pressure monitors.
  • Monitors patients’ physical and emotional well-being and reports unusual behavior.
  • Provides nursing, psychiatric, or personal care to patients.
  • Observe and influence patients’ behavior, communicate and interact with them, and teach, counsel, and befriend them.
  • Collaborates with or assists doctors, nurses, and clinical staff in treating, rehabilitating, and returning patients to the community.
  • Encourages patients to develop work skills and to participate in social, recreational, and other therapeutic activities that enhance interpersonal skills and develop social relationships.
  • Develops or teaches strategies to promote patient wellness and independence.
  • Administers oral medications or hypodermic injections, following physicians’ prescriptions and hospital procedures.
