About The Position

Join the Team at Sunnyhill Adventures! The Camp LPN plays a vital role in supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in a Camp setting. Requirements

  • Knowledge of various different types of disabilities; including but not limited to developmental and intellectual disabilities, Down's Syndrome, Cerebral Palsy, and mental illness.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Missouri Licensed Practical Nurse.
  • At least one year experience in home health care.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in the field of developmental disabilities, preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with weekly intakes of campers including checking in medications to confirm accuracy.
  • Reviews and implements Individualized Support Plans and medical documentation to best support the campers.
  • Maintains accurate and detailed records of medication administration including dosage, time, and any observed side effects.
  • Administers medications to campers according to physician orders and agency policies and procedures.
  • Monitor campers for any adverse reactions or side effects from medication and report any concerns to nurse and director.
  • Maintains complete and accurate Medication Administration Records (MARs) for all campers in accordance with their physician orders.
  • Complete accurate and detailed event reports regarding the people we support’s illnesses or injuries.
  • Regularly monitors and takes inventory of medical supplies and reports needs to program staff and/or nursing team.
  • Monitors campers for signs of illness or injury.
  • Collaborate with the nursing team and camp staff to assess and address camper health concerns.
  • Respond promptly to all medical emergencies and administer first aid and CPR as necessary.
  • Assists campers with personal care support as needed.
  • Follows medication administration procedures in accordance with agency policies.
  • Ensure that camp facilities and equipment are well maintained and ready for use.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive team environment through mentorship and collaboration.
  • Communicate effectively with the people we support, families/guardians, Camp staff, counselors, and other stakeholders.
  • Maintains camper confidentiality and privacy in accordance with Sunnyhill’s Confidentiality policy.
  • Communicates all health concerns with the Director of Nursing and camp management.
  • Other duties as assigned.
