About The Position

This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific eligibility requirements per VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. Program Approval, award amount (up to $200,000) & eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after review of the EDRP application. Former EDRP participants ineligible to apply. This position ensures compliance with VA Directives and subsequent national guidance regarding management of disruptive behavior and workplace violence prevention. The Coordinator leads implementation of the Workplace Behavioral Risk Assessment (WBRA), oversees case coordination through the Disruptive Behavior Committee (DBC) and Employee Threat Assessment Team (ETAT), collaborates with the Prevention and Management of Disruptive Behavior (PMDB) team, and provides supervision to assigned staff.

Responsibilities

  • Develops and implements policies and procedures for the Workplace Violence Prevention Program in accordance with VA standards.
  • Conducts regular assessments of the workplace to identify potential risks and develop strategies to mitigate these risks.
  • Monitors and evaluates the effectiveness of the program, making adjustments as necessary.
  • Coordinates with various departments to ensure comprehensive integration of violence prevention initiatives.
  • Coordinate with hospital education regarding mandatory training programs for all employees on workplace violence prevention (e.g., PMDB).
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for issues related to workplace violence prevention.
  • Provide consultation to managers and employees on handling potentially violent situations.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary committees and task forces related to workplace safety and violence prevention.
  • Oversee and direct the activities of a multidisciplinary team of professionals involved in the Workplace Violence Prevention Program.
  • Provide administrative and clinical supervision, ensuring that staff receive appropriate training, support, and performance evaluations.
  • Facilitate regular team meetings to review case incidents, discuss strategies, and ensure continuous improvement of the program.
