About The Position

The Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) position at WellSpan Behavioral Health Outpatient Services involves providing clinical interventions and therapies to patients of all ages experiencing mental health and substance use challenges. The role emphasizes a commitment to patient-centered care, collaboration with a multi-disciplinary team, and maintaining a safe and respectful environment. The counselor will perform psychosocial assessments, implement treatment plans, and participate in discharge planning while adhering to the organization's core values of service, integrity, and compassion.

Requirements

• Master's Degree in Counseling from an accredited school.
• Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in Pennsylvania required.
• Minimum of two years clinical experience in the mental health field, including psychotherapy provision.
• Experience with play therapy and/or addictions treatment preferred.
• Current CPR certification and Non-Violent Intervention certification required.
• PA Child Abuse Clearance, Criminal Background Check, and FBI fingerprinting required.

Nice To Haves

• Certified Co-Occurring Disorders Professional (CCDP) and/or Registered Play Therapist (RPT) preferred.
• Experience in educational programs to maintain clinical skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform clinical interventions with patients, families, and outside organizations to coordinate care.
• Provide psychosocial assessments and clinical therapies including individual, couples, group, play, and family therapies.
• Participate in treatment team meetings and ensure regular attendance.
• Conduct intake assessments and document appropriately.
• Develop and revise plans of care for outpatients, ensuring they meet the needs of all age groups served.
• Utilize standardized tools to assess and reassess patient functioning.
• Document discharge plans and link patients to community services as needed.
• Facilitate therapy groups and maintain participation documentation.
• Respond appropriately to emergency situations and manage crisis interventions.
