About The Position

The Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) provides comprehensive behavioral health services within a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC)- Look Alike setting. This role focuses on delivering high-quality, patient-centered mental health care to a diverse and often underserved population. The LPC is expected to provide culturally responsive, trauma- informed care and work collaboratively with an interdisciplinary team to support integrated primary and behavioral health services.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, or a related field
  • Active and unrestricted WI state licensure as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC)
  • Minimum of 1–3 years of clinical experience preferred
  • Demonstrated experience working with diverse, multicultural, and underserved populations
  • Knowledge of trauma-informed care and integrated care models
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills

  • Bilingual or multilingual abilities strongly preferred
  • Experience providing culturally responsive and equity-focused care
  • Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems (EPIC experience is a plus)
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-based environment
  • Strong cultural humility and commitment to reducing health disparities
  • Experience with Medicaid/Medicare populations and documentation standards

Responsibilities

  • Provide individual and family counseling services to patients across the lifespan (pediatrics, adults, and geriatrics)
  • Conduct comprehensive psychosocial assessments, diagnoses, and treatment planning
  • Deliver evidence-based therapeutic interventions (e.g., CBT, solution-focused therapy)
  • Provide culturally sensitive and linguistically appropriate care, recognizing and respecting patients’ diverse backgrounds, beliefs, and values
  • Adapt treatment approaches to meet the unique cultural, social, and economic needs of each patient
  • Maintain timely and accurate clinical documentation in accordance with FQHC, state, and federal requirements
  • Collaborate with primary care providers and care team members to ensure integrated, holistic care
  • Participate in case conferences, care coordination, and treatment team meetings
  • Assist in crisis intervention and risk assessment, including safety planning
  • Provide referrals to community resources and culturally appropriate support services as needed
  • Support quality improvement initiatives and compliance with HRSA and FQHC standards
  • Maintain patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations
