Shive-Hattery’s Industrial Architectural Studio has an exciting opportunity for a Licensed Process Architect with 10+ years of experience in the business development, design, and leadership of architectural projects. This position is expected to sit in our St. Louis office which will provide fantastic career-growth opportunities for a talented individual who is prepared to take on next-level leadership challenges, contribute on an elevated level in a collaborative team culture, and expand their expertise. As an architect on the Industrial team, you will be collaborating with multi-discipline teams across the entire Shive-Hattery ecosystem on local, regional, and national projects. You will also be involved in growing client work in the St. Louis area and with clients who have headquarters in St. Louis.

Lead architectural design and project management efforts for projects serving primarily industrial clients.
Direct non-licensed and other professionals assigned to design, produce, and coordinate the design process and technical documents.
Attend project and client meetings with design professionals for both business development opportunities and projects under contract.
Develop technical design solutions.
Assist with design presentation development.
Demonstrate knowledge of industrial process documentation and familiarity with developing architectural designs that provide spaces which allow them to function effectively and efficiently.

Completion of an accredited professional degree program with a bachelor’s degree or master’s degree in architecture or equivalent education and experience.
Licensed architect is a requirement.
Proven experience in relationship building, business development, winning work, and leading project teams through every phase of the design process.
Possession of excellent communication skills.
Demonstrate a high degree of aptitude in critical and creative thinking associated with design and the design process.
Knowledge of programming, planning, and building materials systems and performance.
Comprehensive understanding of architectural specifications, international building codes, Factory Mutual design guide requirements, life safety code, and current ADA requirements.
Leadership of project stakeholder engagement sessions with owners and users.
Self-motivation and ability to problem-solve independently while supporting collaboration across project teams and disciplines.

Experience with cGMP process architecture.
Knowledge of front end facility programming.
Familiarity with bioprocess equipment arrangement.
Understanding of HVAC engineering for process environments.
Experience in process & process utility design.
Knowledge of extending the life of existing manufacturing facilities.
Experience designing for international and FDA regulatory requirements.
