About The Position

PrimeCare Medical, Inc. is seeking dedicated Licensed Practical Nurses (LPN) to join the medical department at the Lebanon County Correctional Facility in Lebanon, PA. In this role, LPNs will deliver comprehensive nursing care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. The position includes a 2-week orientation period with on-the-job training and shadowing with nursing staff. Correctional healthcare offers a challenging and rewarding environment, similar to an emergency room or clinic, where nurses apply hands-on assessment and clinical skills daily. Responsibilities include managing healthcare emergencies, conducting physical health assessments, initial screenings, medication distribution, nurse sick calls, and chronic care clinics, as well as assisting physicians, psychiatrists, and dentists. Requirements

Ability to multi-task
Good grasp of patient assessment skills
Licensed to practice nursing in the state in which the facility is located
Active LPN license in the state of Pennsylvania
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Ability to communicate effectively
Demonstrate clinical competency

Responsibilities

Providing comprehensive nursing care while ensuring the proper flow of relevant information is communicated to appropriate personnel
Maintain, update and work with electronic medical records and ensure that they are secure
Maintaining accurate records of all controlled substances, narcotics and sharps in accordance with applicable state and federal laws
Conducting sick call for inmate/patients and provide treatment illnesses and injuries, defined by written protocol and approved by PCM Medical Director
Observing, reporting, and documenting symptoms, reactions and progress of inmates/patients and participate in the formulation of the plan of care
Record, retrieve and file medical information in the inmate/patient medical record
