About The Position

At ERC Pathlight, we are a leading treatment provider for eating disorders and mood, anxiety, and trauma-related conditions, offering innovative, evidence-based, and compassionate care across the country through multiple locations and virtual programming. Founded in 2008, we support over 6,000 patients annually, committed to expanding access and elevating mental health care standards. The Licensed Practical Nurse will provide and assist in direct patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, APP, or physician. This role involves medical management, environmental safety, and crisis management for patients, adhering to legal scope of practice and established standards. The LPN will demonstrate performance consistent with the organization's Mission, Vision, and Strategic Plan, ensuring quality and effectiveness in clinical practice, and treating all team members, patients, and families with dignity and respect. The LPN will collaborate with the treatment team to maintain a therapeutic milieu and may be required to cross-train and float to other facilities within the Region, as well as work on-call shifts based on business needs.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED
Active LPN license in the state job is held (Maryland)
BLS certification
Ability to keep patient information confidential
Ability to remain calm in stressful situations

Nice To Haves

1+ years of experience working with in the mental health field
IV skills/certification
Knowledge/experience with nasogastric tubes

Responsibilities

Performs all nursing care within scope of practice to assigned patients under the supervision of an RN, APP, or provider
Manages patient assignment within assigned shift
Performs and documents vital signs, responses to treatment, education and nursing care and assists with other basic medical care tasks assigned
Reports abnormal changes in patients or patients’ health and mental status to RN or provider in a timely manner
Receives, places and documents provider orders/communication in timely manner using approved abbreviations
Effectively labels, collects and processes patient specimens
Administers medications, injections, places and maintains nasogastric tube feeds, and provides wound care according to facility and state regulations
May assist licensed provider with patient examinations and treatments by positioning, restraining patients, and assisting as directed
Performs all aspects of patient care in an environment that optimizes patient safety and reduces the likelihood of medical/health care errors
Ensures that care reflects goals of patient outcome activities
Contributes to individualized treatment plans in conjunction with the ERC multidisciplinary team
Participates in daily controlled substance count
Aides in transition/transfer of patients to and from other units or facilities
Collaborates with staff to assist with transportation arrangements for patient appointments outside of ERC
Responds to emergency situations until emergency response team (911) arrives on scene
Provide and assist in direct patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, APP or physician
Provide medical management of patients and assist with environmental safety and crisis management for the patient population
Partner with the treatment team to provide a consistently therapeutic milieu
Cross train across ERC and Pathlight and may be required to float or be assigned to other locations/facilities within the Region
May be required to work on-call shifts based on business needs
