Austin’s Place is a day program for young adults with intellectual disabilities that focuses on helping individuals build independence, confidence, and life skills. Located on a beautiful 22-acre campus, our program offers a wide range of opportunities for clients to grow and engage in meaningful activities, including: Walking trails and outdoor recreation areas A fully accessible therapeutic center Outdoor music garden, zip line, and swimming pool Greenhouse and garden Sensory rooms and an art studio Cooking activities in two accessible kitchens Clients participate in daily programming focused on communication, socialization, recreation, and pre-vocational skill development. They also enjoy regular outings in the community, such as visits to Pittsburgh museums, the Science Center, the Zoo and Aviary, local parks, restaurants, libraries, and shops. Our programming is designed around the interests and strengths of each individual, helping them stay motivated while working toward personal goals. We are seeking an organized and compassionate Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to support the health and well-being of our clients. This role involves monitoring client health, administering medications, and assisting with daily care while working closely with the program team.

Requirements

  • Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license (required)
  • Valid driver’s license (required)
  • Ability to commute to Butler, PA 16002

Responsibilities

  • Administer medications according to physician instructions
  • Monitor client health and report any changes in condition
  • Record vital signs, progress notes, and other health information
  • Assist clients with personal hygiene and mobility needs
  • Provide emotional support while addressing medical needs
  • Assist with ambulation and range-of-motion exercises
  • Support and supervise activities as outlined by the Program Specialist
