About The Position

Join our team of compassionate and caring nursing professionals! Broughton Hospital is currently recruiting for multiple Licensed Practical Nurses on second and third shifts in Specialty Services. The primary purpose of the Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) is to prepare and administer medication for assigned shift, as well as ensure the medication room is in compliance with clinical standards of practice relating to storage and maintenance of medications. The LPN also assists the Registered Nurse (RN) with patient/family education/teaching, treatments and discharge planning/teaching during the patient's hospital stay. The LPN is responsible for performing a variety of skilled health care activities for patients and carries out structured interventions based on the comprehensive plan of care. Work involves direct patient care contact on an assigned shift to ensure individual patient needs are met and is performed under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse. LPNs must have a valid license to practice in North Carolina.

Requirements

  • Licensed to practice as a Practical Nurse in the state of North Carolina
  • Selected applicants must be able to pass a State Bureau of Investigation Criminal History Check, and complete and pass BLS/CPR training and Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) training during orientation
  • This Position Is Designated As Mandatory And Must Report Or Stay Over During Adverse Weather Events
  • All employees are required to adhere to the facility's Vaccination Policy

  • Team leadership including delegation of duties and supervision.
  • Ability to provide feedback and guidance/counsel to nursing staff on care rendered to patients.
  • Basic ability to implement the nursing process.
  • Ability to work as a team player with multi-disciplinary healthcare staff.
  • Ability to provide support and assistance to peers/co-workers.
  • Psychiatric nursing experience preferred
  • American Sign Language (ASL) experience valuable
