About The Position

We are looking for an energetic Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) that can be a team player in a busy Cardiology Clinic. The LPN provides clinical and administrative expertise to ensure all patients receive high quality, efficient care. Must interview patients, obtain medical history, complete lab and x-ray request, keep charts current, and screen calls within physician guidelines. Applicant should possess a caring and professional attitude, have excellent computer skills, and be able to multi-task. Experience with Holters, EKG’s and Stress Test preferred. Requirements

  • A degree from an accredited school of practical nursing is required.
  • Must be certified in the state of Arkansas and possess a current Arkansas License.
  • Must have at least one (1) year of clinical experience, along with Lab, EKG, and X-ray experience.
  • Applicant should possess a caring and professional attitude, have excellent computer skills, and be able to multi-task.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Holters, EKG’s and Stress Test preferred.
  • Bi-lingual in Spanish a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Record health history of patient and note abnormal conditions for physician.
  • Instruct patients on collection of any necessary samples and tests.
  • Obtain vital signs and escort patients to rooms.
  • Observe, record, and report patient’s condition and reaction to drugs and treatments to physicians.
  • Ensure that patient chart entries are made accurately and in a timely manner and forward charts as appropriate.
  • Maintain patient files, records, and other information.
  • Assist with scheduling of tests and treatments.
  • Arrange referrals to a specialist and obtain pre-authorizations when directed to by the provider.
  • Prepare exam and treatment rooms with necessary instruments.
  • Give injections and assist with lab testing and Phlebotomy.
  • Prepare and maintain supplies and equipment for treatments.
  • Notify patients of test results and follow-up appointments.
  • Instruct patient and family regarding medications, treatments, and follow-up instructions.
  • Contact pharmacy to order prescriptions and notify patients.
  • Control inventory and monitor the use of supplies.
  • Maintain up to date stock and monitor and maintain medical equipment.
  • Respond to and screen telephone calls for physician.
  • Triaging patients to ensure productive departmental flow.
