About The Position

MPF Federal is seeking a qualified Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to provide outpatient and ambulatory nursing services in support of TriCare clinic operations. This position is designated as mission essential and requires onsite clinical support during all scheduled clinic hours, including federally recognized holidays. Compensation is pursuant to the Service Contract Act. The LPN will deliver patient-centered care in accordance with established nursing standards, clinic policies, and Medical Home Port (MHP) team-based care principles. Work Schedule & Hours Clinic Hours: Monday through Sunday, 0700–1900 Total Coverage: 444.5 hours per week (shared coverage model) Shifts: Varied shifts within operating hours Shifts longer than six (6) hours include a 30-minute uncompensated meal break Services may vary during holiday weeks per government-provided schedule matrix The clinic remains open on all Federal Holidays Core Responsibilities The Licensed Practical Nurse will provide care within the scope of practice and clinic policies, including but not limited to: Patient Care & Clinical Support Perform patient intake, triage, and vital signs assessment Obtain and document medical and family history Assist providers with diagnostic and minor surgical procedures Perform specimen collection and point-of-care testing Administer medications (oral, parenteral, IV), immunizations, and allergy treatments Insert and monitor IV fluids, catheters, NG tubes, oxygen, and suction Conduct sterile dressing changes and wound care Recognize and respond to emergency situations Perform preoperative and post-procedure care Documentation & Health Information Systems Maintain accurate patient records Utilize AHLTA, CHCS, CarePoint, ICDB, Secure Messaging and other automated systems Track HEDIS measures and preventive health screenings Monitor lab and radiology results and notify patients per policy Maintain patient registries and population health metrics Medical Home Port (MHP) Team Participation Participate in daily team huddles Assist in schedule scrubbing and preventive service identification Support care coordination and patient education Assist with NCQA, Joint Commission, IG, and other accreditation requirements Patient Education & Support Provide education on medications, equipment use, procedures, and follow-up care Support patients and families emotionally and clinically Reinforce treatment plans and promote self-care Clinic Operations & Safety Maintain exam rooms, supplies, and emergency equipment Perform daily emergency equipment checks Ensure a clean, safe patient environment Support check-in/check-out and referral coordination Transport patients within facility as required Report maintenance and pharmaceutical resupply needs Competencies Strong clinical assessment skills Knowledge of outpatient and ambulatory care workflows Ability to respond effectively in emergencies Proficiency with electronic medical records systems Strong communication and patient education skills Ability to function effectively in a team-based care model Physical & Work Environment Clinical outpatient setting Frequent standing, walking, lifting, and patient transport Exposure to infectious diseases and medical hazards consistent with healthcare settings Requirements Minimum Qualifications Education Graduate of a State Board of Nursing approved LPN/LVN program OR Graduate of an ACEN-accredited LPN program OR Completion of equivalent military LPN training program Certificate required Experience Minimum one (1) year experience within the last two (2) years as an LPN in: Outpatient acute care (hospital-based), or Ambulatory care setting Competencies Strong clinical assessment skills Knowledge of outpatient and ambulatory care workflows Ability to respond effectively in emergencies Proficiency with electronic medical records systems Strong communication and patient education skills Ability to function effectively in a team-based care model Licensure Current, unrestricted LPN/LVN license in any of the 50 U.S. States, District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, Guam, or U.S. Virgin Islands Certifications Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification No additional certifications required Benefits MPF Federal is an Equal Opportunity Employer. Requirements

  • Graduate of a State Board of Nursing approved LPN/LVN program OR Graduate of an ACEN-accredited LPN program OR Completion of equivalent military LPN training program
  • Minimum one (1) year experience within the last two (2) years as an LPN in: Outpatient acute care (hospital-based), or Ambulatory care setting
  • Strong clinical assessment skills
  • Knowledge of outpatient and ambulatory care workflows
  • Ability to respond effectively in emergencies
  • Proficiency with electronic medical records systems
  • Strong communication and patient education skills
  • Ability to function effectively in a team-based care model
  • Current, unrestricted LPN/LVN license in any of the 50 U.S. States, District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, Guam, or U.S. Virgin Islands
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
