East Liverpool's medical staff is comprised of more than 160 physicians with an additional 21 resident physicians completing their training in Family Medicine and Internal Medicine. The hospital provides 24/7 emergency services, general surgery, medical stabilization for substance abuse, behavioral health for adults over the age of 55, and remains the ONLY cardiac rehabilitation program in Columbiana County. For more information, visit www.elch.org The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) provides direct and indirect patient care services within the scope of practice, utilizing technical and manual skills. The LPN delivers high-quality care that addresses the psychosocial, physical, and general needs of patients while effectively communicating with patients and their families. This role functions under the supervision and direction of a Registered Nurse (RN).

Requirements

  • Current and valid state license
  • Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintain current.
  • IV certification upon hire (state specific)

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct patient care, including administering medications, monitoring vital signs, and assisting with daily living activities, within the LPN scope of practice.
  • Perform indirect patient care tasks, including documentation, care coordination, and assisting with patient education.
  • Observe, report, and document patient status and changes to the supervising RN.
  • Maintain a safe and therapeutic environment for patients, families, and staff.
  • Support the RN in implementing and evaluating individualized patient care plans.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and the healthcare team to promote positive patient outcomes.
  • Adhere to established policies, procedures, and regulatory standards.
