About The Position
The University of Iowa Community Clinics (UICC) is seeking a patient centered 60% (24 hours a week) Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to work at our UICC 1st Avenue Fam Med Clinic. This position will mainly support our Family Medicine Clinics but could float to other patient specialties/clinic locations including but not limited to: Pediatrics and/or Specialty/Outreach Clinics. Requirements
- Licensed as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) with the Iowa Board of Nursing, or eligible for temporary work permit. Responsible to take the required continuing education hours to maintain a valid LPN certification
- Basic Cardiac Life Support provider
- Driver's License and ability to meet UI Fleet Safety Standards.
- Demonstrated excellent written/verbal communication.

- Previous Family Medicine Clinic experience
- Ability to demonstrate teamwork, collaboration, and autonomy in all aspects of the role
- Previous phlebotomy experience
- Previous immunization experience
- Staff may be required to receive a passing score on work samples to be considered for this position
Responsibilities
- Provides nursing care under the supervision of a registered professional nurse.
- Participates in the development of nursing care plans and in the implementation of therapeutic program for patients.
- In less complex situations, may assume responsibility for directing and supervising assigned nursing personnel. In more complex situations, performs as an assistant to the registered professional nurse.
