About The Position

We are seeking a compassionate and attentive Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to provide one-on-one medical support for a student or individual requiring assistance during transportation. The LPN will ride on the bus to ensure the safety and well-being of the assigned individual, monitoring their health status and responding to any medical needs during transit.

Requirements

• Diploma/Degree from an Accredited school of Nursing
• Current and valid Licensed Practical Nurse license in the state(s) practicing
• One year of LPN experience in the field applying for
• Current AHA BLS/AED certification required
• Strong interpersonal skills that build personal rapport and establish trust with the patient, family and medical team.
• Strong organizational skills
• Excellent written and communication skills
• Ability to meet physical demands of the job (ex: lifting 50 pounds, long hours standing)

Responsibilities

• Provide one-on-one medical supervision and support during transportation.
• Monitor the individual's health condition and respond to any medical emergencies as needed.
• Administer medications or treatments per physician's orders, if necessary.
• Ensure proper use of medical equipment, such as oxygen tanks, feeding tubes, or seizure precautions.
• Collaborate with bus drivers, school staff, caregivers, and healthcare providers to ensure a safe and smooth transportation process.
• Maintain accurate documentation of health observations and any interventions provided.
• Adhere to HIPAA regulations and confidentiality standards.
• Assist with safe boarding, seating, and exiting procedures for the individual.
