About The Position

The Licensed Practical Nurse assists the Registered Nurse (RN) and Medical Team in meeting each individual resident’s practicable level of independence and function through medical and psychosocial intervention, administering medication and evaluating the patient's response to care. Position will provide quality nursing services in the care and treatment of residents, under nursing supervision. The LPN works with the RN in planning, implementing, and evaluating resident care. This position will take part in the interdisciplinary team process in nursing assessments, assist with the personal care of residents and provide guidance to Health Care Technicians (Certified Nursing Aide I) during day-to-day activities of daily living.

Requirements

  • Licensed to practice as a Practical Nurse in the state of North Carolina.

Nice To Haves

  • Working knowledge of nursing techniques, procedures, theory and practices, sanitation, personal hygiene, basic health and safety practices.
  • Working knowledge of proper dosage, effects and contraindications.
  • Skill in routine medical procedures to include basic wound care, taking vital signs, checking weights and obtaining specimens.
  • Skill in preparing and administering medications, observation and evaluation of individuals' condition(s).
  • Possess ability to respond to potentially life-threatening situations in a calm and orderly manner.
