About The Position

The Staff LPN is responsible for the daily treatment and services for Medication Assisted Treatment, assessment and response to medication assisted treatment under the direction and supervision of the Director of Nursing/Physician/Nursing Supervisor

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited school of Practical Nursing
  • Licensed in the State of New Jersey
  • BLS from the American Heart Association required upon hire or transfer
  • One-year nursing experience
  • Must have computer skills required to administer methadone/suboxone doses and record data
  • Ability to engage in conversation with clients in order to understand their needs.
  • Capable of delivering service in a way that is responsive, respectful, caring and helpful.
  • Ability to adapt to changing environments, policies or administrative procedures
  • Capable of delivering a consistently superior quality service as measured by the client's medical level.
  • Capable of exhibiting respect for individuals from all ethnic and cultural backgrounds

Responsibilities

  • Knowledge of methadone and suboxone drug indications, dosage and route of administration.
  • Capable of logging into the Electronic Health Record for start of day procedure and completes end of day procedure.
  • Responsible for accurate dispensing and recording of methadone/suboxone for outpatient clients per state and federal regulations.
  • Ability to reconcile methadone/suboxone in Electronic Health Record.
  • Accurately dispenses and records methadone/suboxone per federal regulations.
  • Able to perform bottle-to-bottle transfer of methadone.
  • Ability to document incidents regarding methadone/suboxone per federal regulations.
  • Ability to accurately enter methadone/suboxone dosages per MD orders and renew expired orders.
  • Accurate assessment of clients prior to dosing, not limited to vital signs and document results.
  • Administers emergency treatment and completes transfer process accurately to acute care when required.
  • Maintains client's confidentiality in accordance with state and federal regulations.
  • Capable of delivering consistently superior quality service as measured by the clients' medical level.
  • Provide orientation to new clients (infection control/universal precautions, dosage, safe handling).
  • Monitor medical order updates/completes and sign nursing assessments.
  • Ability to manage methadone and suboxone accountability forms.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned by immediate supervisor and other management as required.
  • Admit clients to program and document in EHR
