About The Position

As a member of the Ancora Memory Support Assisted Living staff, the Licensed Practical Nurse will assist in creating and maintaining an optimal physical, spiritual, social and psychological environment conducive to the best interests and welfare of the residents. Ancora Memory Support Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN Staff Nurse) FT 7p-7a Ancora Memory Support at Mount Alverna Village, a part of Franciscan Ministries, is a vibrant senior living community in Parma, Ohio. At Ancora, we are at the forefront of providing specialized, person-centered dementia care. This Assisted Living community itself was designated to impact the overall well-being and quality of life for residents. It provides maximum comfort, functionality and safety within a reduced-stress environment while offering sensory stimulation. Ancora Memory Support is part of Mount Alverna Village, a continuing care retirement community (CCRC), offering a variety of senior lifestyle options including independent living, assisted living and skilled nursing/long-term care. Additionally, the onsite rehabilitation clinic offers inpatient and outpatient physical, occupational, and speech therapies, and state-of-the-art programs designed to enhance the quality of life for residents and patients in the local community.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited LPN program
  • Ohio LPN license
  • Minimum of 2 years acute care nursing experience and 1 year in assisted living
  • Must enjoy working with the senior population

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the administration, control and safekeeping of medication and re-ordering of these medications.
  • Perform specific clinical skills, which are necessary for the nursing care of the residents.
  • Participate in the documentation of nursing care.
  • Assist residents with activities of ADL whenever necessary.
  • Coordinates Resident Care Assistants and other staff in meeting the needs of the residents.
  • Participate in Restorative Nursing and Quality Improvement Programs.
  • Assists in the orientation of new staff to meet resident needs; Assists with the orientation of new resident moving in.
