The LPN practices under the direction and supervision of the physician/nurse practitioner (NP) and within the scope of practice defined by the State Board of Nursing. Contributes to the physician’s/NP assessment of office patients and assists the physician/NP as needed with treatment and education of the patient. Under the clinical supervision of the physician/NP, and the administrative direction of the practice manager, demonstrates the ability to perform procedures in the office setting. DEPT. SCOPE OF SERVICE The Progressive Care Unit (PCU) is an acuity adjustable unit providing care to a diverse patient population requiring medical-surgical and telemetry levels of care. In addition, we see higher level of care patients, including but not limited to those on BiPap, titratable drips, or with hemodynamic instability requiring more frequent interventions and monitoring. The PCU is a 24/7/365 service with 25 beds. The team includes hospital medicine, care management, physical therapy and respiratory collaborating together to provide the best patient care possible.
