About The Position

The Bedford-Stuyvesant Family Health Center (BSFHC) is a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) serving the primary health care needs of families in North and Central Brooklyn. The mission is to provide professional, courteous, and high-quality health care with dignity, especially to the underserved population, without regard for ability to pay. BSFHC also operates School-Based Health Centers to increase accessibility and availability of quality primary and preventive physical and mental health care to students in high-risk areas of Bedford-Stuyvesant, Brooklyn. The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) will provide clinical nursing functions based on the needs of different departments within the Center, assisting practitioners and nurses with patient care, education, and other nursing procedures as assigned in the clinical areas. Newly licensed LPNs are encouraged to apply, as on-the-job training is provided. The position requires flexibility with scheduling and location rotation as needed, including working Monday - Friday 9am - 5pm, rotations to all locations, late nights to 7pm, and Saturday shifts, usually 1-2 times a month.

Requirements

Degree/Certificate from an approved School of Practical Nursing
Valid LPN License in New York State
One year of experience as LPN in a clinic based (willing to train)
Must be flexible with scheduling and Open to location placement as needed
MUST BE ABLE TO WORK - Monday - Friday 9am - 5pm, Rotations to all locations, late nights to 7pm and Saturday Shifts, usually 1-2 times a month

Nice To Haves

Associate’s Degree in Nursing preferred
Bilingual English/Spanish preferred
