About The Position

LSSI is hiring an LPN (Licensed Practical Nurse), to be responsible for providing direct nursing services to clients and function as a key member of a team of social workers, nurses, support staff, and medical provider who are responsible for safe and quality client care in substance abuse programs. There is no set schedule for this position, as it is an as-needed (PRN) role. We operate a 24/7 facility; however, nurse coverage is required daily between 7:00 AM and 7:00 PM. This does not mean a nurse will be scheduled for the entire duration, but coverage must be available within those hours. This role is designed to fill gaps as they arise, primarily within the 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM window. Mondays are typically an open day, so we have a particular need for availability on that day. We are looking for nurses who can come in on short notice when needed, especially on Mondays.

Requirements

• High School Diploma
• Valid IL LPN license.
• BLS/AED CRP trained.
• At least 5 years’ experience in long-term care nursing.
• At least 5 years’ experience with individuals with developmental disabilities.
• Ability to provide leadership and training to direct care personnel.
• Participate in ongoing learning opportunities to keep skills current.
• Valid driver’s license, in good standing for the state of residency required.
• Access to reliable transportation required.
• Valid IL statutory insurance.

Responsibilities

• Administer medications as prescribed.
• Assess, plan, and evaluate nursing care in the facilities.
• Identify changes in clients' conditions and take appropriate action.
• Plan and provide direct care that maximizes functional capacities.
• Complete documentation in accordance with regulations and facility practices.
• Demonstrate professional, positive behavior and carry out responsibilities with integrity, treating clients, families, and other LSSI workforce members, and collaborative organizations and/or individual in a dignified, respectful, honest, and fair manner.
