About The Position

Pyramid Healthcare is seeking a compassionate and dependable Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our Concord, NC program on a part-time weekend basis. This role is essential to delivering high-quality nursing care to adults receiving substance use disorder and/or mental health treatment. The LPN provides direct nursing services, supports medication management and detox protocols, and works collaboratively with medical providers and the clinical team to ensure safe, effective, and person-centered care.

Requirements

  • Current, unencumbered LPN license in the state of North Carolina required.
  • Current CPR/BLS, AED, and First Aid certification required.
  • Minimum of one (1) year of nursing experience preferred.
  • Strong nursing judgment and clinical skills.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to assess situations, analyze information, and problem-solve effectively.
  • Ability to manage crisis or high-risk situations calmly and appropriately.
  • Working knowledge of federal, state, and regulatory compliance standards.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary treatment team.
  • Frequent talking, hearing, and use of hands.
  • Regular sitting; occasional standing, walking, stair climbing, stooping, kneeling, twisting, or crouching.
  • Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds; seldom up to 50 pounds.
  • Vision requirements include close, distance, peripheral, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
  • Schedule based on operational needs.
  • Requires use of personal transportation.
  • Potential exposure to infectious diseases and individuals experiencing acute psychiatric or traumatic situations.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in behavioral health, substance use treatment, and/or co-occurring disorders strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Complete initial nursing assessments for new admissions, as applicable.
  • Administer medications in accordance with physician orders and program protocols.
  • Implement and monitor detoxification protocols as assigned.
  • Complete COWS and CIWA assessments per protocol and clinical guidelines.
  • Provide medication education and support to clients.
  • Coordinate with and support medical providers during assessments and medication management appointments.
  • Maintain medical equipment in proper working order.
  • Uphold confidentiality, professional boundaries, and ethical nursing standards.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
