About The Position

The didgwalic Wellness Center is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Floating LPN to join our integrated care clinic that combines primary care, behavioral health, and opiate treatment all in one place. Dispensing Nurses are responsible for safekeeping of all medication stock and the records required by the DEA, FDA, and Board of Pharmacy. The Float LPN will regularly work at all locations as needed, including support to incarcerated clients onsite. The Float LPN may also need to work on days which are not a part of their regular schedule to cover other absences. NOTE: This posting is for two positions. One position will float on the following schedule: 10 hour shifts on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, with occasional Saturdays. The non-float position will be Monday - Thursday, 10 hour shifts. Requirements

  • Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
  • Knowledge of current medical practices in primary care, mental health, and addiction medicine.
  • Good personal and ethical boundaries.
  • Ability to work in a cross-culture environment, understands the social and cultural context of the patients at the didgwalic Wellness Center.
  • Understanding the role of trauma, historical, community, family, and personal in wellness and recovery.
  • Understands and adheres to state (RCW, WAC) and federal confidentiality regulations (42 CFR part 2).
  • Effective communication; written, verbal, and interpersonal skills, including conflict resolution.
  • Basic computer and software experience using MS Office products.
  • Must be a Licensed Practical Nurse in good standing with the State of Washington.
  • Valid CPR/BLS certification required.

Nice To Haves

  • Three (3) years of experience of professional work as an LPN preferred
  • Previous substance abuse treatment and/or primary care experience strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Dispenses and records appropriate doses of Methadone or Buprenorphine/Naloxone or Mono Buprenorphine (Subutex) in the EHR as ordered by staff providers.
  • Responsible for the daily monitoring of patients’ needs and care of all patients reporting to the opiate treatment (OTP) clinic.
  • Conducts ongoing physical, emotional, and chemical observation, and evaluation of clients.
  • Alerts treatment staff of any observed changes in patients’ status.
  • Maintains knowledge of and compliance with applicable federal and state regulations and laws, as well as company policies and procedures regarding dispensing and medication assisted treatment.
  • Accurately chart patient encounters and incidents through the Electronic Health Record (EHR).
  • Records all inter-agency communications relating to the patient in a timely manner.
  • Explains the proper use of dispensed medication and its effects to clients.
  • Maintains current statistical records.
  • Collaborates with staff providers and the treatment team when making decisions about patient's needs for nursing care.
  • Responsible for the safekeeping of all dispensary medication stock and the records required by the DEA, State Board of Pharmacy, and clinic.
  • Maintains professional standards and follows the treatment policies of didgwalic Wellness Center as well as Federal and State laws and regulations.
  • Floating between locations to cover absences and staffing needs regularly.
  • All other duties as assigned by the Dispensary Manager.
