Cleveland Clinic's Medicine Preoperative Assessment Clinic (MPAC) optimizes patients for surgery. Caregivers here assess their medical risks, evaluate chronic health conditions, modify medications, and perform the appropriate tests to minimize the risk of complications during and immediately after surgery. As a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) on this team, you will assist fellow caregivers in providing exceptional, top-quality care to a diverse patient population. In this role, you can make a lasting difference in the lives of patients, all while enhancing your nursing skills through hands-on experience and numerous educational resources offered within the Cleveland Clinic system. A caregiver in this position works days from 7:30AM - 4:30PM.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited LPN program
- Florida Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or the American Red Cross
- Knowledge of infection control practices
- Experience with technology
- Computer literacy

Responsibilities
- Provide professional nursing care to patients.
- Administer medication.
- Maintain complete and accurate documentation in medical records and files.
- Complete authorization forms and laboratory requisitions.
- Implement pain management assessments and documentation.
- Educate patients, families and others.
- Adhere to the National Patient Safety Goals as outlined by JCAHO.
- Follow Code Blue protocol.
