About The Position

The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) provides clinical nursing support within an outpatient orthopedic practice. The LPN assists physicians with patient care, clinical procedures, documentation, and coordination of treatment plans while ensuring efficient clinic operations and excellent patient service.

Requirements

  • Current Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license in the State of Indiana.
  • Graduate of an accredited practical nursing program.
  • Current BLS/CPR certification.
  • Knowledge of clinical procedures and medical terminology.
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Orthopedic or ambulatory clinic experience preferred.
  • Experience with EMR systems.
  • Prior outpatient or specialty clinic experience.

Responsibilities

  • Room patients and obtain vital signs, medical histories, and chief complaints.
  • Prepare patients for provider examinations and procedures.
  • Assist physicians with orthopedic procedures including injections, casting, splinting, and wound care.
  • Administer medications and injections as ordered and within scope of licensure.
  • Perform dressing changes, suture removal, and patient care treatments.
  • Document patient encounters accurately in the electronic medical record (EMR).
  • Coordinate imaging, referrals, prior authorizations, and follow-up care.
  • Educate patients regarding treatment plans, medications, and post-procedure instructions.
  • Maintain exam rooms, clinical supplies, and infection control standards.
  • Communicate effectively with providers, staff, and patients to support workflow efficiency.
  • Follow OSHA, HIPAA, and organizational compliance standards.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
